There are lots of different ways to help as a volunteer
Parent Coach
Parent Coach
Parent coaches help keep their teams focused and provide opportunities to practice. Coordinate with the other parents on the team to set up book reviews, practice author/title pairing, and help review battle skills.
Outside of school. No sign up required.
Student Skill Builders
Student Skill Builders
These volunteers will help teach skills, work with the kids to practice, and help keep the kids focused.
School-time availability is a must.

Battle Judges
Battle Judges
There are three kinds of battle judges: The Question Reader, Scorekeeper, and Timekeeper. The Scorekeeper needs to attend the volunteer training.

Timekeeper and Question Readers Training
Timekeeper and Question Readers Training
The deck contains information for volunteers who are interested in acting as a Timekeeper or Question Reader. It covers OBOB terms that may not be obvious, a general layout of a Battle Day from the perspective of a judge, and details specific to each role.
There is no test associated with being a Timekeeper or Question Reader.

Scorekeeper Training
Scorekeeper Training
You must pass the Scorekeeper quiz with a score of 24+ points to act as a Scorekeeper during battles.
This deck covers the vast majority of information that a Scorekeeper needs, including a layout of a Battle Day, as in the Timekeeper and Question reader training, as well as in depth information about scoring rules and processes.
After reviewing the deck, you can take the quiz embedded at the end. Once you have passed with the required score, you can sign up for shifts in ParentSquare.
