Welcome to OBOB
Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) is a state-wide optional reading comprehension program and trivia competition. Sponsored by the Oregon Association of School Libraries in conjunction with a Library Services and Technology Act grant, students in 3rd-12th grade, regardless of ability, are exposed to quality literature representing a variety of literary styles and viewpoints.
This is the State-level site and contains resources for parent coaches, readers, and volunteers.

Skill Builder and Battle Times
To preserve instructional time, Skill Builders will be offered during recess for the 2026-27 season.
Skill Builders are optional for students.
Battles will also all take place during recess.
Battle Blends
Battle Blends
Due to schedule constraints, battles will be offered by grade level until Final Four in Bracket play.
New metrics will be used to determine advancing teams across grade levels.

Sometimes it can be hard to tell who your child wants to be on a team with. Download a copy of this doc to help manage the chaos.
Send your child to school with the top copy section and have them write down the name of their desired teammate and that child's grade/teacher. This will help during enrollment.
Print several copies of the bottom of the form, adjusted to include your name, your child's name, and your contact information to open lines of communication between families.
