Whether you are absolutely sure about what your future holds or you don't even know where to start, the library has many great options for you. It's never too early to think about your life outside of the academic world -- What would you like to be doing in ten years? Do you expect to go to college? A trade school? Entering the military? Entering the workforce? No matter what your post-high school plans are, there is something to fit your needs.
The library is a great place for discovery and finding answers to both common and unusual questions. Not only does the library have a plethora of books addressing subjects from all walks of life, but there are also databases and other ways to discover information digitally. What is a question you've alwanted an answer to? How do you make a car? What does your liver do for your body? How do fish breath? The library collection is full of books that can answer your questions and entertain your mind.Â
Have you ever heard of kiteboarding? It is a sport that combines surfing and parasailing. What about pelota? Native to France in Spain, players of pelota use hooked baskets to sling a ball against a wall in an attempt to keep their opponent from being able to sling it back. Did you know that the rules of the earliest games needed to be remembered and taught in person because not enough people could read or write (or writing didn't exist!)? These are just some of the things you can find information about in the library--there are even books about video games and music!
