Identifying Stages of Grief

  1. Denial- When the pandemic started many of us carried the belief that the “virus won’t affect us."

  2. Anger- We may experience feelings of anger due to loss of our independence. We are being told to stay home and were not able to do our daily activities.

  3. Bargaining- “If I stay at home for two weeks, my life will go back to normal." We might have accepted social distancing as a limited restriction.

  4. Sadness- “When will this end." Questions and confusion about the unknown for our future begins to settle in.

  5. Acceptance- Social distancing is becoming more normal for us and now we are trying to figure out how to move forward.
