Michelle Kelley has worked for Boise State HEP since 1987. She holds a master's degree in Educational Technology.
Teddy is from Phoenix, Arizona and attended the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ and the University of Phoenix, where he majored in Accounting. He has previously worked as a stockbroker with Charles Schwab & Co. and as a Financial Aid Advisor at the University of Phoenix. Teddy speaks English, Spanish, and beginner Russian.
Ángeles Gómez teaches Spanish GED classes in Boise and Nampa. Ángeles holds two bachelors degrees: a B.A. in Spanish from Boise State University and a Bachelor of Economics from Autonomous University, Chapingo, Mexico. Angeles is also an adjunct professor of Spanish at Boise State University.
Madison holds a bachelors degree in Secondary Education: Spanish from Boise State University with a minor in Latin American/Latin@ Studies. She also holds a certificate in Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL). She is currently pursuing a master's degree in Educational Technology. She previously taught high school in Meridian and McCall. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
Mercedes is an immigrant, daughter of migrant farmworkers, and mother to two amazing children. She is fluent in English and Spanish. Mercedes received her B.A in political science and her master’s degree in Public Administration from California State University, Chico.
Alma Navarrete is originally from Michoacán, Mexico. Her family immigrated to the Burley area in the 1990’s. Growing up she weeded beets, potatoes, and onions during the summers with her family and other farmworkers. After graduating high school, she received a CAMP Scholarship to begin her studies at Boise State University. Alma graduated from Boise State in 2007 earning a B.S. in Criminal Justice and a B.A. in Spanish. Alma is currently seeking a third bachelor’s degree, majoring in Information Technology. She speaks Spanish and English and beginner Arabic.
Ashley works alongside the HEP program to create a safe and fun living environment for students of all backgrounds. She is currently in her third year at BSU, studying mathematics with hopes to become a high school teacher. When she is not hanging around campus, she enjoys fly fishing, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and hanging out with her family and dog.
José Villalobos earned his BBA and MS degrees from Boise State University. He currently works as the CAMP Retention Counselor at Boise State. José worked as a Financial Aid Counselor at Boise State for seven years. He also worked as the CAMP Recruiter for 10 years. José is an immigrant from Mexico and a former farmworker. He was the first in his family to graduate from high school, attend college, and earn not only one but two degrees. José is also a former College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) student.
María González Cárdenas earned her undergrad (Bachelor of Arts) and grad (Master of Business Administration) degrees from Boise State University. She currently works as the CAMP Follow-up/Career Counselor and also instructs the CAMP classes during the fall and spring. She has been working at Boise State for the last nine years. María’s prior experience includes working as an Outreach Worker/Paralegal with the Migrant Farmworkers Law Unit of Idaho Legal Aid Services, Inc., Farmworker Monitor Advocate with Idaho Department of Labor, and Public Affairs Specialist with the Social Security Administration, and consulting work for various non-profit organizations in Idaho, Oregon, and Montana. María is a former farmworker and the first in her family to earn a college degree. She is a native of Texas.
Guadalupe Rodríguez is a first-generation high school and college graduate, as well as first-generation Mexican-American. She is an alumna of the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts with a Minor in English from Boise State University. Guadalupe has worked with CAMP programs for over three years, and in the field of education for a total of seven years. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge with others and guiding people during times of transition. She has worked with families and children served under the migrant education program during her time with the migrant summer school in a nearby school district. Additionally, Guadalupe lived abroad while working with Haitian families and children who had immigrated to the Dominican Republic. She is very excited for her continued work with CAMP students and families, while also continuing her freelance work as a visual artist. In her spare time, Guadalupe enjoys hiking, walking, drinking coffee, reading a good book, writing, drawing, and painting.
