Boise State University graduate with a BS in Electrical Engineering. During my time in college I was a peer advisor for the College of Engineering. I was a member of Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation(LSAMP) where I went to conferences and participated in undergraduate research projects to then present at poster symposiums. I was a Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) President leading meetings and attending universities for leadership and professional development meetings. While I was attending Boise State, I also enrolled in a User Research Design (UX) certificate, that I am expanding on by enrolling in the Google UX Online certificate. Outside of academics I enjoy being around my friends and going on road trips or doing some outdoor activity. I also like binging TV, listening to music, and procrastinating on developing my professional skills to further myself along in life.
I believe in keeping an open and looking for opportunities, or creating ones that are not there.
I will share my perspective with students during the breakout session. Everyone’s college experience is different, no one goes down the same path. Knowing how others have created success in their lives helps in knowing where one may want to go after they are out of college. It is always confusing even if you are in your final years of college one may still not know where to go or what to do. I hope in meeting with the students they can get a sense of what another person is doing to answer those questions.

Director, Teacher Leadership Development
Tracy.Sedano@teachforamerica.org
I am a first-generation, Mexican-American, and grew up in rural Idaho, in a predominately low-income farm working community. Those identity markers continue to be drivers in my work today as I believe education has the power to liberate the lives of marginalized identities as seen in my own experience and with the students I taught. I taught Special Education, Math inclusion for two-years in Phoenix. While I loved working with students, I could not help but believe my impact would be better suited working with rural students and managing adults to enact change in their classrooms in the state I call home. I transitioned to coaching teachers on their leadership at Teach For America, Idaho for the past 3 years and now develop and facilitate the programming (PD) of our teacher leaders.

After graduating from Gonzaga University with degrees in Public Relations and Political Science, I accepted an internship position with US Senator Mike Crapo. Since that time, I have never looked back and am forever grateful for my career in the Senator’s office!
Currently and for the last decade, I serve in a number of different capacities with the Senator including Intern Coordinator, which is why I am here today. I also work closely with Veterans through the Senator’s annual Spirit of Freedom Awards, with constituents seeking federal grants, those looking to schedule a meeting with the Senator in the state, and other duties related to the day-to-day operations of running a congressional office.
I currently reside in Boise’s north end with my husband and two children.

I was a CAMP student at the University of Idaho in the Fall of 2000. I graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. After graduating, I did two years with the AmeriCorps VISTA program working with the Idaho 4-H program. After completing my service with AmeriCorps VISTA, I had difficulties finding employment related to my college degree, so I worked for a local construction and demolition company. In 2007, I got hired as a rehabilitation technician with the Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections. In 2008, I changed employment and became a Juvenile Probation Officer.
