2021 Hacking for Homebuilding
September 27 - October 7, 2021

Hosted by Boise State University's
Venture College + College of Engineering

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Hacking for Homebuilding Competition, a statewide competition to solve real-world problems facing the homebuilding industry across Idaho.

Hacking for Homebuilding is offered in partnership by Boise State University’s Venture College, a program in the College of Innovation and Design, and College of Engineering. This is a ‘reverse pitch’ competition, which means you don’t have to bring your own idea, but will choose a problem provided by industry partners and propose a solution in the form of a new venture. Industry partners identify challenges they face and pose these as problem statements. Teams choose a problem to solve, and refine their solutions into ventures through research, customer discovery, and idea validation. Participants will pitch their ideas and compete for $40,000+ cash prizes.

Hacking for Homebuilding is composed of two tracks: student and public. Both tracks will have $20,000 in cash prizes available. All higher education students across Idaho are eligible to compete, and encouraged to apply. The public track is open to the general public.
