Quantum Memory Bits
Quantum Memory Bits
Dr. Campbell has been thinking about quantum memory bits that operate at room temperature since around 2004. While working at Micron Technology, she and two of her coworkers, invented a room temperature quantum memory bit that operates using the fundamental electron spin property of zero-field splitting. Zero-field splitting is not observed in many material systems, so the challenge became how to find the right material system for this technology.
This project has recently been revived due to the zero-field splitting (ZFS) properties of several new materials that are semiconductor fab friendly. We are currently looking for funding to explore ZFS device fabrication.
