Setting Up Your Online Course

Courses in the EDTECH program are offered online through Blackboard. Adjunct instructors are typically given a copy of a course that was developed by a full-time faculty member. Arrangements will be made to create a copy of the course site and content for you in Blackboard. This will occur after you have been established as the official instructor for the course.

Steps for setting up a Blackboard Course site:

  1. Request a Blackboard site to create a new course shell. Follow the instructions on the middleware page: https://web.boisestate.edu/lms-middleware/

  2. Notify the Adjunct Coordinator when your course site has been created.

  3. Course content will be copied into the new course shell.

Expectations for Course Sites and Content

Once you have a copy of one of the EDTECH course sites you should review the content carefully. Update all dates to match the semester when you are teaching the course and fix any broken links, typos, or errors you encounter. This should be done before the semester begins. Refer to the academic calendar for dates: https://www.boisestate.edu/registrar/boise-state-academic-calendars/

Please note that course content created by EDTECH faculty belongs to Boise State University and the faculty member who created it. It should not be copied or duplicated outside of Blackboard without permission.
