You are required to keep a notebook, and turn it in to your librarian at the end of the year to win.
In the notebook you must document each book you read for the 2026 XBooks Challenge.
All participants will be provided with a paper or digital (paperless) notebook. You may also choose to use your own notebook if you prefer!
Ask your school librarian for a free copy of the paper notebook with easy-to-complete pages for each book you read.
You can also print and assemble the booklet yourself, or make your own out of a favorite notebook or journal. For each book, you need to make sure to include the title and author, the category you're using it for, and your reaction or response to the book.
If you'd prefer a digital option, make a copy of this file and save it in your own Google Drive. Customize it with your own name, and change the colors if you'd like. Each time you input a book, the final two tabs will autopopulate with your progress!
At the end of the year, share the document with your school librarian to verify completion of the challenge.
