The Boise School District believes in providing a rich learning environment for all its students. With that in mind, some students may be interested in having an “open” or “unscheduled” period.

Students wanting an unscheduled period for the 2026-2027 school year can fill out this form: Unscheduled Period Request form. Once this form is submitted, it will be sent to the school counselor and then to parent/guardian for approval. Completed forms received by March 1st will be given priority.

Please remember that unscheduled periods can impact students' extracurricular/ sports eligibility, NCAA eligibility, and Advanced Opportunities funding for overload classes.
