What's the difference between AP and dual credit classes?
Both types of classes offer rigorous college level coursework
Some classes offer an AP exam and college credits
Dual credit classes offer the option to simultaneously earn high school AND college credit
AP classes offers an exam in May. Based on the score earned, the college/university may or may not award college credit
Dual Credit classes require the student to register with the university in order to earn college credit
The final grade for a dual credit class will be transcribed on the high school transcript AND the college transcript
Some universities grading policies differ from BSD grading policies. Teachers will keep a high school grade book and a college grade book. This means that it is possible to earn two different grades for the same class. For example, NNU requires students to earn a 70% or better in order to pass their college class
