AP US History is designed to provide a college-level experience, as well as preparation for the Advanced Placement Examination in May. An emphasis is placed on interpreting documents, mastering a significant body of factual information, and writing analytical essays. Content covers the early history of our continent through the early 21st century.
Students complete at least one page of hand-written focused notes per assigned reading for homework.
Students use their school agendas to keep track of reading schedules and assessment dates, which are communicated in class and through Google Classroom.
Students check Google Classroom when they are absent and email Ms. Robinson with questions.
Follow all school policies outlined in the Student Handbook.
Students are assessed for learning using the BSD 4-Point Scale with the following categories:
Writing Assessments (DBQs, LEQs, SAQs)
Stimulus-Based Multiple Choice Assessments (MCQs)
Performance Tasks (Research, analysis, and creation of a product.)
Focused Notes (Reported but not included in the overall grade calculation.)

Students are prepared for class when they arrive with their charged Chromebook, the current unit's focused notes from assigned readings, a composition notebooks, as well as writing tools (pens/pencils/highlighters).
