You will receive weekly grades. Essentially keeping track of your progress and your effort to improve your grades in other classes. As long as you do your best you will pass this class.
Sometimes we will spend a class period or part of a class period going over some useful study tips or organization strategies.
The grade in Academic Support is calculated as a pass/fail. 60% and above = a Passing Grade.

Only change in this policy--if a teacher uses a 100 point scale, the lowest grade a student can receive is a 50. A 50 is still an F or U.
Purpose of change to create an equal distribution of points for each letter grade. If a teacher uses a 4 or 5 point scale they can still give zeros since they have equal distribution of points for each letter grade.
This is a video introduction to something called Focused Notes. This strategy of note taking will help you utilize your notes and teach you how to revisit them so you remember the content. This is a key component of a class called AVID here at Les Bois. I think this style of note taking is something all students should try and use.

I am not going to allow students to have cell phones in my classroom. Each student should have access to a BSD device to serve any tech needs we will encounter throughout the school year. School discipline policy will be followed if students continue to use cellphones during class time.
