Hello! My name is Kelly Holder. I grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where I attended Western Michigan University for my undergraduate degree. I was fortunate to study for a semester in Strasbourg, France, and graduated in 1997 with a B.S. in Elementary Education with a minor in Math and Science Curriculum, and a major in French. In 2006, I earned a Master’s Degree in Reading and Language Arts from Grand Valley State University. In 2018, I was the winner of the Gilder Lehrman Institute's Idaho History Teacher of the Year.
I have taught 4th 5th and 6th grades in Casper, Wyoming, Fruitport, Michigan, and at Maple Grove Elementary School in Boise. I am thrilled to be joining the staff at Les Bois Junior High in the 2025-26 school year to teach World Studies 7 and Digital Literacy.
My family is so important to me! I love spending time with my husband Joe and daughter Keira, an alumnus of Les Bois and Timberline who is studying civil engineering at Boise State University. I am also a proud cat mama of my four-legged, fuzzy child, Minerva.
I love to run, read, and travel, spend time with family and friends, and I am a sports fan, especially of soccer and football. (Go, Detroit Lions!)
I look forward to getting to know my new students over the course of this school year. Thank you in advance for your support and communication in the coming months. I look forward to working together to support your child’s growth and progress!
