Every Wednesday on the field, volunteers help students track laps throughout the year. Prizes, such as water bottles, stickers, and tshirts, as well as natural competitive spirit, drives these kids towards the ultimate goal of earning the Hawks Who Walk Marathon! The track around the field is about 1/4 mile, so encourage your child to participate weekly, even if it's one lap, to reach that goal!
Providing a quiet space for arts and crafts is one of Hawthorne's favorite clubs, Craft Corner! Kids are guided through a variety of projects throughout the year, displayed up front in the hallway for all to see and enjoy. Stay tuned for changes to the schedule, and reach out if you are interested in helping out!
Every Friday during the fall and spring, groups of students will be allowed to come out to the front garden to help maintain it and do fun activities. This year we are focusing on building and strengthening what we have by eliminating weeds, creating and fortifying pathways, and creating a new space in front of the school dedicated to those who came before us and left prematurely. Teachers will choose who gets to go, and the garden is always looking for volunteers to help supervise!
