2024 Welcome back!!
Students will be requires to dress down each class period. Dressing down is a Change of clothes (clothes not worn to school). Appropriate T-shirt, athletic shorts and appropriate gym shoes. Bring School issued Chromebooks to class with you each class period. Some days they will be needed, others not.
****Remember Students enrolled in Physical Education MUST have a signed Physical or Waiver form on file with the Nurse's office. These forms can be found in the office and online at the BSD website.
General description of 8th and 9th grade Physical Education.
Students will receive instruction in a variety of coeducational physical activities that allow the student to feel successful in accomplishing physical skills and personal fitness. Emphasis will be on the value of integrating physical activity and fitness into the student’s lifestyle. The goal for the students will be to acquire the knowledge and skill to implement a personal fitness program that will help ensure a lifetime of wellness.
My name is Larry Durk. I have been a Junior High School Physical Education teacher for 32 years. I am a 1992 Graduate of the University of Idaho (GO VANDALS!!!) I started my teaching career at Hawthorn and Whitney Elementary schools and then went to North Junior High where I spent 11 years. I now get to spend my days at Les Bois Junior High School where I teach 7th,8th and 9th grade PE. I love the outdoors! When not teaching, you can find me on the water either fishing in high mountain lakes or rafting the Salmon River. I enjoy camping with my wife and dog. I have a daughter that is a teacher at Les Bois and a son that is a Biologist / lab tech in Boulder Co.
