The FAFSA is an application students/families complete to apply for both loans (which have to be paid back) and grants (FREE $$!)
Students are awarded Pell Grants based off information such as their family's income and household size
In general, both students & parents will need their Social Security Numbers, income/tax info from the previous year, and active emails & phone numbers (click link above for more info)
Both the student and one parent will need to create an FSA ID.
This is like your username & login for the FAFSA and acts like an electronic signature
Items needed to create an FSA ID (for both student & parent):
Social Security Number (if you have one)
Computer or Mobile Phone
Email address
