Welcome to Capital High School DECA!
Founded in 1965, Capital High School DECA has a long tradition of preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. As one of the most active student organizations on campus, DECA gives students the opportunity to build professional skills while making a positive impact in the community.
Each year, our members take part in meaningful events and service projects such as the Elementary Family Dance, Make-A-Wish fundraising efforts, Rake Up Boise, and our annual Holiday Bazaar. These activities not only strengthen leadership and teamwork but also create connections between Capital students, families, and the greater Boise community.
In addition to community service, Capital DECA members also compete at state and national levels, showcasing their knowledge and skills through role plays, written events, and team competitions. These experiences allow students to apply what they’ve learned in real-world scenarios while representing Capital High with pride.
At Capital DECA, we strive to carry forward our legacy of excellence by combining service, leadership, and career development opportunities. Whether you’re interested in competing, volunteering, or building lifelong friendships, DECA is the place to grow.
DECA is a Career and Technical Student Organization(CTSO) integrated with marketing and business classes offered through the Career and Technical Education (CTE) services. Starting in 1917 through the Smith-Hughes Act funding was provided for vocational education, this was the beginnings of CTE. The Carl D. Perkins Vocational Act was signed in 1984 bringing Career and Technical Education into the modern era.
