Part of your NCEA journey will require you to be able to research a topic extensively and report on that topic. You will need to be able to do the following :
Gather information about a topic
Break down that information into its relevant parts
Stitch or construct the pieces of relevant information together
Present that information in an orderly report
As an example, I will consider the pencil. To present a report on what a pencil is, I need to investigate many different topics. These topics can be summed up as the following questions :
What is a pencil?
What is the history of the pencil?
What is it made of?
How is it made?
Where is it made?
Who makes it?
What is the possible future of the pencil?
I will ask myself these questions, then try to answer each questions as best as possible by researching each question. I will gather information on each question and then compile that information into a paragraph. The paragraph of information should be grammatically correct with proper spelling. Each question should be answered in a paragraph and with photos to help explain or illustrate your topic.
Here are the items that you can research. You only need to pic one item for your report. If this report is successfully done and submitted it will allow you to get a Merit award for Y10 MTY.
You can opt to pick your own item to do a report on.
