Summer Reading Challenge 

Bohunt Worthing Library is passionate about reading books. We believe that developing reading skills through a love of literature is important for progress in all subjects. Through reading regularly, students are exposed to language being used creatively, imaginatively and accurately. They start to appreciate how character, mood and setting play an important part in their emotional engagement with any text; they begin to see how writers create the magic that they can aspire to themselves in their own writing. Without reading, there is no good writing therefore at Bohunt Worthing we encourage and support reading as the foundation for all future learning.

Next year, students will encounter a range of texts. In order to best prepare for this, we have a Summer Reading Challenge. On transition day your child will receive a Welcome Pack! Included in this pack will be a copy of the Magicians Nephew book for your child to keep. The challenge is to read the book over the summer and complete a postcard review ready to hand in on your first day in September!
