Prevocational Programming is grouping of locally developed curriculums which are available to high school students with disabilities in Monongalia County Schools. These programs specific goals and objectives outlined in students' IEPs focusing on workplace skills.
It is our mission to provide students with pre-vocational skills in lab and real-world settings.
It is our goal to use these opportunities to expand students’ experiences beyond their current home, social and high school settings resulting in increased independence, personal fulfillment and gainful employment.
Practical Assessment Exploration System - P.A.E.S. Lab
PAES Lab is a program for 10th grade students at MTEC. In PAES Lab, students explore real life work environments and the necessary work/communication skills for employment after graduation. As Sophomores, PAES Lab students refine their work ethic and prepare for continued training in General Foods or JOBS programming during 11th and 12th grade years.

JOBS is an activity based program where students work both independently and in small groups. They learn problem solving skills, workplace communication, the safety procedures in place across all Mtec learning environments and hands-on experience with basic tools and household equipment. Students develop a portfolio to present to potential employers after graduation. JOBS is a 2yr program.
