Teachers post assignments, materials, grades, and attendance in Schoology.
Students can use Schoology to interact with the materials shared by teachers, submit digital assignments, communicate with teachers, and check their progress.
Parents can check their child's progress in each course using their Schoology parent account.
Students and staff will access Schoology using a Google single-sign-on. Students and staff must first be logged into Google Chrome (either logged into their chromebook or logged into the Chrome browser). Once logged into Chrome, students and staff can click the Schoology link on their school's website (monongalia.schoology.com). They will be prompted to confirm their Google account and then, tada, they are automagically logged into Schoology!
In order for parents to log in to Schoology, they must first set up their parent account using their child's Schoology code. Most schools send home parent letters with this code at the start of a school year. If you are a parent and need your child's code to connect to Schoology, please contact your school's EdTech Leader. Parents who have set up their account can click the Schoology link on their school's website (monongalia.schoology.com) to use their username and password (created during set up).
Note: Parents will always be connected to the school where they initially registered for an account. When a student moves from school to school, parents can either create a new account at the new school or contact Monica McCartney (mlmccart@k12.wv.us) to have their account moved to their child's new school.
Parents and students can message school staff through Schoology on a chromebook or computer by finding staff members in the school directory.
1) Click on the down arrow next to your name.
2) Select your school.
3) Choose Faculty on the left side of the screen.
4) Search for the staff member or scroll through the list of staff members to find the person you wish to message.
5) Click on Send Message to the right of their name.

Make sure third party cookies are not blocked on your device (Chrome Settings --> Cookies and Other Site Data --> Uncheck "Block Third-Party Cookies")
When remote learning, always check your class page to see what you need to do. Most teachers create a folder or file that says:
"Need Help?"
"Read Me First"
"Start Here"
If your class does NOT have any of these, then check the conferences tab to see if a conferences is being held or WAS held.
When you submit an assignment you:
Can submit using the submit button.
Make sure the file you are sending is not BLANK or the master before you did all your work.
Or...you can submit via Schoology messages.
Having a Parent account in Schoology is actually like having two accounts:
Your personal account, with your own name and information;
Your Child Activity view. From here, you can view Schoology from your child’s perspective, and see what he or she sees, and receive updates about his or her activity.
Start by clicking on the arrow in the upper-right corner, next to your name, and then select your child’s name to switch into his or her account. If you have multiple children associated with your account, all will be displayed in this area. The checkmark in this drop-down menu indicates which account you are currently viewing.
While viewing Schoology as your child (child's name appears in upper right-hand corner):
The Student Activity tab displays your child’s recent submissions, grades, and attendance information.
The Enrollments tab lists of the courses your child is currently enrolled in, along with his or her grades. Click on an individual course to see grades received on assignments, tests, and discussions from that course.
The Recent Grades/Attendance area lists the most recent graded assignments, tests/quizzes, discussions, and attendance marks for the student.
4. The Overdue section displays a list of course materials your child did not turn in by the due date.
5. The Upcoming section displays a list of your child’s upcoming assignments and events.
6. Courses: You can see a list of your child’s current courses. Click the course name to navigate to the course profile as your child views it. Note: due to limited space, you may not see all courses listed here. Use the Enrollments tab to see all courses.
7. Groups: You can see a list of your child’s Schoology Groups. Groups can be used for a variety of activities, from school projects to extracurricular teams and clubs.
8. Grades: This menu will give you access to your child's Grade Report for all courses and Attendance Report for all courses.
9. Calendar: Click to view a calendar of past and upcoming events and assignments. To find out more information regarding a particular event, place your cursor over the title. A clue tip displays with the event type (assignment, test/quiz, event), the event's course or group, and the student name. Click the event to display profile information in a pop-up window.
Note: There is no Messages icon in the Child Activity view. To view your messages, use the dropdown menu next to your child's name in the upper right-hand corner to toggle back to your name/account.
