After clicking the option to share, type in the school Google account of the person(s) with which you wish to share the document.
After typing in the names of the people you want to share with, use the dropdown box to make them a viewer, commenter, or editor. (Note: by default, they will be an editor)
After clicking the option to share, set your options in the "Get Link" section.
Set sharing to “Anyone in Monongalia County Schools” to “Viewer” to allow students and staff to view the document without editing it.
Set sharing to “Anyone with the Link” to “Viewer” to allow parents and anyone outside of Mon County schools to view the document without editing it.
After setting the options, copy the link and share with anyone who needs to view it.

Begin by setting your document sharing to “Anyone with the link can view”.
While on your document, change the last word of the address from “edit” to “copy”.
Share the new URL (with the word copy) with students or staff.
When they open this new URL it will force them to make their own copy of the document.

Share the new URL (with the word preview) with students or staff.
When they open this new URL it display the document without any toolbars.
Creating a PDF of your document will make it a static document that cannot be edited.
File → Download → PDF Document
