Truman’s Candy Drawbridge
The Candy Drawbridge is really big. When boats come, the draw opens and draws up so the biggest boats don’t hit the bridge. I chose this type because I like the motion it has. This particular drawbridge goes over the ocean, connecting Coney Island with Staten Island.
Believe it or not, this is the longest bridge in the world. It takes twelve hours to drive through it. This might sound long, but imagine how long it would take to walk or swim it. Oh boy...too long.
First, to get on the bridge you need to show your ID Card to the Bridge Master. Then, you have to give him $40.00 because bridge maintenance is expensive. If you’re traveling at night, you’ll see the beautiful lights strung across. These cost money, too! $40.00 is a bargain!
The best feature of the bridge is that once you reach the middle of the span, you’re stopped by a Candy Bot who brings you any treat you can imagine. This is why Truman’s Candy Bridge is the best in the world.
When you see the bridge up close, tell me how big you think it actually is. I’ll tell you if you were warm, hot, cold or right on. If you guess correctly, free candy and bridge trips forever.
See you there!
