What we offer and don't offer
We provide individual, brain-based psychotherapy for children, pre-teens, and teens. We do not provide individual services for adults.
We provide evaluations for psychological and educational diagnoses and services for individuals up to age 18 years. We do not provide forensic, placement, or custodial evaluations.
We provide family psychotherapy for families who have at least one child/teen already engaged in individual therapy with us.
We provide consultation and trainings for mental health, educational, legal, and medical professionals.
We provide supervision of practicing master degree-level LPAs (Licensed Psychological Associates) who are employed in school and community settings. We do not offer practicum or internship experiences at B 'n G for students at the undergraduate, master, or doctoral level.
While our evaluations and most of our therapy sessions are provided in-person in the B 'n G house, we sometimes offer the option of confidential zoom sessions when health or transportation issues arise for established clients.
We provide an inclusive therapeutic environment where each individual and every family is truly valued, without bias as to
ethnicity, race, national origin, ancestry, or culture;
income or social status;
gender identity or expression;
personal appearance;
sexual preference;
family composition;
religious, spiritual, philosophical, or political beliefs.
In these highly polarized times, we want to be clear that we provide effective psychological services in alignment with the ethical code of the American Psychological Association (https://www.apa.org/ethics/code). We are not affiliated with any religious or political subgroup. We offer best practices informed by credible research in addition to our decades of real-world experience in teaching and practicing the art and science of psychology.
We welcome and offer respect to all! We ask everyone who enters this space to do the same.
We are a small, home-based business providing psychological services in this house, which is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood. This is where we provide evaluations, play therapy for younger clients, and talk therapy for teens. Our setting allows us the flexibility to have therapy sessions inside or outside, in our back yard. Therapy is focused work and it also can be fun.
B 'n G is proud to be recognized as a SAFE PLACE in Lexington. We provide an affirming, respectful, nonviolent, tobacco/alcohol/drug-free space for all who enter. To protect our clients and ourselves, we do not accept clients whose primary issue is substance abuse or physically aggressive behaviors.
feedback from a parent of a 7-year-old
"We're so thankful we found you. Thanks for caring for our boy so well and for giving him a safe space to process his big feelings. He's grown so much and gained the tools to handle what the world throws at him."
