General Rules for AIMS Competitions
Age Groups:
Swimming / Athletics - U8, U9, U10, U12's
Football/ TAG/ Netball / Cross Country - U9 / U12's
Students have to be in the correct category on September 1st of that school year. For example, if a student is 8 years old and 353 days old on September 1st, 2024 (the start of this academic year), they will go into the U9 (under nine) category.
Regardless of what year/grade students are in, they must compete in their correct age category.
U12 is used instead of U11 to allow students who may be too old in Y6/G5 to still compete and not be excluded.
Starting/ Finishing Times:
Each events have different starting and finishing times, however most try to apply the following times:
Friday afternoon events: Start by 1:00pm, Finish by 4:30pm.
Saturday morning events: Start by 7:30am, Finsih by 12:00pm.
All visiting schools must be able to travel home by 12:30pm to allow for safe travel in daylight.
Awards:
Every event has a team shield that is given to the winning school. The shield is brought back each year.
Athletics/Swimming - Inidividual certificate and medal for the best in each gender/age category. Certificates given to athletes who finish 1,2,3 in each event.
Netball/Football/ TAG - certificate and medal given to the MVP (most valuable player) in each tournament (i.e. U9 girls, U9 boys, U12 girls, U12 boys)
Cross Country - Certificates and medals given to 1st, 2nd, 3rd in each category.
General Rules for QUADS Competitions
Age Groups:
All sports (except girls football) - U13, U 15 and U19
Girls football - U14/U19

Awards:
Due to the amount of individual competitions, no trophies or awards are given to winning teams/schools.
A prize ceremony occurs after each event where 'special mentions' to MVP's from each team are recognised. During the prize ceremony 1st-4th positions are revealed.
