General Rules
CEZOBAL YOUTH MID-SEASON TOURNAMENT PLAYING REGULATIONS
1. Matches will be played as per FIBA rules unless otherwise stated and with size “7” & “6” basketball for the boys & girls respectively.
2. All games will be consist of four (4) quarters of ten (10) minutes each running time (Game clock
will not be stopped during free throws).
3. Stop-start applies in the last two (2) minutes of the fourth (4) period) ONLY if the score is within
ten (10) points and irrespective of the score thereafter.
4. There shall be intervals of one (1) minute between quarters, and half-time interval of three (3)
minutes.
5. Each team will be allowed two timeouts in the first half, and three timeouts in the second half, with
each timeout lasting 30 seconds, during which the game clock will stop.
6. If the score is tied at end of the playing time, the game shall continue with extra time of 3 minutes
with the first two (2) minutes running and the last one (1) stopping irrespective of the score thereafter. Any other overtime period thereafter will be sudden death (first basket wins - free throw or field goal).
7. Team shall lose by forfeit if unable to field five (5) players ready to play five (5) minutes after the
scheduled time to play and the opposing team will earn a 20-0 scoring point win.
8. Verbal or physical abuses from coaches or players to fellow coaches, players or officials will not
be tolerated. THE FOLLOWING SHALL APPLY FOR UNDER 15 BOYS AND GIRLS ONLY
9. Substitutions can ONLY be made at the end of each first (1st), second (2nd) and third (3rd)
periods and at any dead ball situation of the fourth (4th) period.
10. All players to play at least one period and no player must play three (3) consecutive periods
without becoming a substitute (unless no substitute is available).
11. No zone defence allowed, strictly man-to-man defence from the half line.
12. Full-court press defence not to be applied for periods 1, 2 and 3, it can only be used in the 4th
period and any subsequent extra times.
13. After one (1) warning to the coach for infractions of points 11. & 12. above, the offensive team
shall shoot one (1) free-throw and retain ball possession.
CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES QUALIFICATION
For Under 15 Boys and girls, and Under 18 girls, top 4 teams will qualify to the Semi-Finals, with top
seeded team playing against the fourth seeded team, and second seeded team playing against the
third seeded team. Winners of Semi-Final games will proceed to the championship game, whereas
the loser of the semi-final games will play a third placement game. For the Under 18 boys, top 2 from each group will qualify to the Semi-Finals. The top seeded team
in the U18 Academies group will play against the second seeded team in the U18 Schools group, and the top seeded team in the U18 Schools group will play against the second seeded team in the
U18 Academies group. Winners of Semi-Final games will proceed to the championship game, whereas the loser of the semi-final games will play a third placement game. For classification, Head to Head FIBA rule shall apply accordingly.
