About LISL
The Lilongwe International School Leagues (LISL) were created in 2022 and included 8 schools (Bishop Mackenzie, Paramount, Mount Sinai, Lilongwe Academy, Lilongwe Private School, ABC, Bambino, Good Shepherd) playing in one sport; soccer. In 2023/24 Girls Netball and Boys/Girls Contact Rugby were officially added as LISL events. In 2024/25, girls and boys basketball were added. In 2025/26 the football league expanded into an 'A' and 'B' league due to fixture conjestion in the 2024/25 season.
LISL is managed and organised by sports coordinator, Neil Black (BMIS) who is assisted by Physical Education teachers and coaches from the other nine schools. In 2024/25 a committee was made up to address any key decisions and conflicts. The committee must be made up from three separate schools and will serve two years before a revote. In 2025-2027 the committee is as follows:
Neil Barron-Black - BMIS
Amy Robertson - ABC
TK - PIA
In 2026/27, the decision was made to include girls football to better represent female sport. The leagues were also streamlined to 'seasons'.
Aug - Dec - Netball/Basketball
Jan-Jun - Rugby/Football
