Applied Magnetic Resonance Imaging sci. & Technology (AMRIT) lab
Jaladhar Neelavalli, Ph.D.,
Associate Professor
Department of Biomedical Engineering Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad
My lab's work is in the area of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Some of the topics that we currently work on are the development of:
🔅 Novel biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases and therapy monitory
🔅 Fast and motion robust MR imaging techniques for fetal imaging
🔅 Quantitative imaging methods for the body oncology
🔅 Building low/ ultra-low field MRI systems and developing their clinical applications.
For more than 18 years (my CV), I have worked in the field of MRI, both in academia and in the Industry. Neuroimaging, body imaging, and fetal MRI are some of the areas I have worked on and published on. Developmentof new methods with a view towards clinical translation is central to my research.
It is an exciting time to work in the area of MRI, both in applied technology development or in basic MR development. Deep learning/artificial intelligence, or more appropriately, adaptive intelligence is playing a significant role in this research, opening the door for data scientists too, to contribute to this exciting field.
