Letter from the Editor
Welcome to our latest issue!
I don't think I'm alone in feeling like there's something quietly powerful about the New Year and the gradual transformation from winter to spring. Winter forces us to slow down (even if we don't want to), and spring—still seemingly far off, but we know it's coming—reminds us that renewal is already (and always) underway. I think this Winter/Spring 2026 issue of Blydyn Square Review lives in that same in-between space, where reflection and possibility meet.
Here at Blydyn Square, we shape each new issue by careful selection rather than accumulation. Often, our issues are shorter than you'll find with other literary magazines, but that's because we choose only the absolute best work and (even more important) the pieces that do the best job of "making us think."
The stories in this issue exemplify what we look for when we make our selections: writing that is thoughtful, resonant, and unafraid to sit with complexity. These are pieces that reward close reading, that invite you to pause, reread, and carry them with you into your own moments of quiet or change.
Here, just a few weeks into this New Year, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude: for our writers, our readers, and the ongoing literary conversations that make the Blydyn Square Review possible. We hope this issue inspires you as the days get longer and winter turns to spring.
Thank you for reading, and for being part of our literary community. Happy reading!
