Submission Guidelines

SkyWriting encourage creative, detailed, inspiring, humorous, and/or thought-provoking authentically-voiced manuscripts in a variety of genres including poetry, flash fiction, memoirs, short stories, essay and nonfiction. Submissions are open to Grades 9-12 BlueSky students.

Fiction & Nonfiction Guidelines

Please submit a single short, flash, memoir or nonfiction piece of up to 1,200 words. Format your manuscript using the following guidelines:

Submitted in 12-14-point

Paginated

Double-spaced

Submitted with genre and name as the heading

       Example: Name Short Fiction

Poetry Guidelines

Please submit a single Google document containing no more than three poems. Format your submission using the following guidelines:

Submitted in 12-14 point in a style of your choice

Double-spaced

Submitted with your genre and name as the heading

       Example: Name Free Verse
