About Us

FUNdamentals Volleyball started out of a desire to provide youth players a place to play outside of high school programs and to teach youth developmental volleyball to young players.  We strive to instill a love for the game by keeping our programs infused with FUN!  The sad fact is, most youth players quit participating in a sport when it is no longer fun.  Therefore, our focus is on teaching the FUNdamental skills needed to be successful in playing the game.  We offer many youth development programs, as we work with kids from Kindergarten through 12th grade.  Most of our activities are located in the C470 & Bowles area.

While we offer clinics, camps, and leagues in the summer to all youth players, during the winter months (Nov-Mar/Apr/May) we offer girls club volleyball.  Each season is different depending on what age group of players we have or are looking to have.  The 2018-2019 season offered a 14U and a 16U team.  The 2019-2020 season offered 14U and 15U teams.  The 2020-2021 offered 15U, 16U, and 18U club teams.  The 2021-22 season offered 16U & 17U teams. The 2022-23 season offered 17U & 18U teams.  This season (2023-2024) we are offering  13/14/15U combined, 16/17U combined and 18U club teams.  If your child is interested in playing, please call or email us for more information.

As the club has grown and evolved, our club teams are becoming more competitive as our players have grown and improved in their skills.  We value personal growth and development as people and as players.  We recruit character, not just talent.  The goal during practice is for each player to get better at skills so that as a team, we are able to play at a higher level.  We do not guarantee equal or a certain amount of play time.  Play time is earned during practice.

We typically offer 3 different training sessions open to all youth during club seasonOur Winter training program runs January and February and is for 5th through 12th grade players.   In April and May we have our High School Prep Clinic and our New Player Clinic.  These programs focus on skill development to better the player.

Our coaching staff is IMPACT and SafeSport certified through USAV, have participated in the CDC's Head's Up program on concussions, and is First Aid/CPR/AED certified.  Our coaches have also passed background screens by various educational and recreational entities.

DID YOU KNOW:  For the 2020 Spring high school season, ALL of our high school aged players made a team?

It's true!  We had 17 out of 17 high school players make their high school teams and some made higher level teams as freshman (L3 & JV) and sophomores (JV).  We consistently have our high school aged players making their high school teams with some at higher levels.

Our club is directed by Kendra Adams.  She has been coaching volleyball for over 5 years and previously coached girls softball and was a softball umpire for several years.  She played competitive fastpitch softball from age 10-18.  She starting playing volleyball in middle school and never stopped!  Ms. Adams is an active member of the High Performance Volleyball Coaches group lead by Shay Goulding Meurer.  She is a lifelong learner and focuses on teaching the fundamentals skills to all players as well as teaching strategy to raise player's volleyball IQ to achieve greater success.
