Located in Farmer City, Illinois, the Blue Ridge FFA Chapter is comprised of 8th - 12th grade students from Blue Ridge Intermediate and Jr High School in Mansfield and Blue Ridge High School in Farmer City. To be in FFA students must be in an Agriculture Class each year. As of the 2022-2023 school year- ALL DUES ARE COVERED BY THE IL DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE! What does that mean? If you are in an Ag Class... you are now an FFA Member. You do not have to be active but the opportunities are there for you!
Classes offered include: 8th Grade Ag Exploratory (quarter-long), Introduction to Agriculture (year-long), Biological Science Applications in Agriculture- BSAA (year-long), Vet Science (year-long), Horticulture (semester-long), Ag Communications and Leadership (semester-long), Ag Mechanics (semester-long), Conservation (semester-long), SAE Independent Study Class, or Ag Business (year-long).
While in FFA, students have the opportunity to participate in activities that develop Premier Leadership, Personal Growth, and Career Success. Activities include: CDE/LDEs, Chapter Meetings, Conventions, Workshops, Conferences, Leadership Positions, and much more!
Many students in FFA are also involved in a wide range of activities that include sports, theater, band, color guard, cheerleading, Scholastic Bowl, and bass fishing amongst others.
Blue Ridge FFA is an Illinois Premier Chapter and has advanced to Nationals for being in the top 1% in Illinois and is a 3-Star Chapter at the National Level. In 2025, Blue Ridge FFA was named the Section 16 Premier Chapter, Section 16 winner in the areas of Building Communities, Growing Leaders, and Strengthening Agriculture, Illinois FFA Premier Chapter, 3-Star Chapter at the National Level, and was named a National Model of Excellence Chapter, which is being top 10 in the Nation!
