We provide a variety of resources to support your waste sorting education efforts, including meaningful, grade appropriate 5-minute videos and a variety of slide deck presentations.
The slide decks come with fully annotated presenter notes and extension activities to enhance learning. The videos are embedded in each presentation.
Proper waste sorting is vital for sustainability, and we’re here to make it easier for your school community to do their part.
Lee Middle School students collect and sort classroom recyclables.
These resources were developed for the benefit of Woodland schools by Blueblossom Consulting and funded by the City of Woodland through grants awarded to Woodland by CalRecycle.
Blueblossom Consulting will be developing a K-12 curriculum guide during the 2024-2025 school year. This curriculum guide will incorporate hands-on, interdisciplinary lesson plans and activities centered on waste prevention and diversion in Yolo County. Teachers, administrators, and district staff who would like to provide input on this resource, specifically to help fill curriculum gaps or needs, should contact Allison Martin at allison@blueblossomconsulting.com.
