This course is 1 hour per week, priced at $50.00/hr plus HST
Our fun lesson program for students ages 6 to 9 years old. Filled to the brim with activities and learning every week. Course materials includes:
Grooming (names of tools, how to use & why)
Nutrition (what they eat & need for daily nutrition)
First Aid (how to treat a injured/ill horse)
Basic Anatomy (how the horses body works)
Husbandry & Handling (how to care and handle a horse)
Behaviour & Commuication (how to understand them)
This course is 1.5hrs per week, priced at $65.22/week plus HST
For ages 10 to 13 years old, we go through more indepth education of horses! Course material examples:
Grooming (step by step show groom, advance grooming such as bathing when weather permits)
Nutrition (daily nutrition requirements, different types of hay, grain & treats)
First Aid (how to clean & treat wounds, recognizing hoof, skin & coat issues)
Anatomy (Different bones in the horses body & how to identify)
Husbandry & Handling (how to provide care for your horse, haltering, leading etc.)
Behaviour & Communication (how they communicate with each other & why)
This course is 1.5hrs per week, priced at $65.22/week plus HST
Designed for ages 14 to 17 years old, this course is jammed packed with everything you need to know about horses! Course material examples:
Grooming (show grooming, different discipline expectations of grooming, clipping, braiding, why grooming is needed, complications from improper grooming, etc.)
Nutrition (different hay types, what each one provides, supplements commonly used & what they do, gut health, signs of nutrition deficiencies)
First Aid (how to care for an abscess or hoof issues, types of injuries and hoof issues, cleaning and wrapping larger wounds, eye injuries, chest injuries, when to call the vet, horses dentition & why yearly dentals and vaccines are needed)
Anatomy (in depth learning of the horses skeletal, muscular, nervous and digestive system, why its important to know and how to tell if something may be wrong with the horse using this information)
Husbandry & Handling (how to halter, how to properly fit a halter, proper handling on the ground, how to train smaller concepts, how to fit a saddle and bridle, how to take care of equipment, etc.)
Behaviour & Communication (how horses use their ears and facial expressions to communicate with each other in a herd dynamic, body language and movements, herd hierarchy and how a pecking order works, how to know if your horse is happy)

Carefully created for ages 18+ with a relaxed, safe environment of learning & connecting with horses. Course material examples:
Grooming (the importance of properly grooming, skin issues/infections, signs of skin issues, topical skin care, grooming tools and products, hoof care, etc.
Nutrition (hay types in NL, why we supplement with alfalfa/timothy, supplements needed because of soil deficiencies, an all around nutrition program, how to visually see deficiencies through the body, skin, coat and joints, daily maxes of treat intake, health problems from excess intake of high sugar grass, types of fungus found on grass certain times of year, deworming protocols and how to identify when its needed, etc.)
First Aid (identifying stress response, anxiety, colic, types of colic, laminitis, Cushing's disease, how to wrap wounds of all sizes and what to do in case of emergency scenarios, causes of stress and what can happen)
Anatomy (different systems of the body in detail, how they related to each other and how good/poor nutrition effects them, bones of the hoof, how to identify hoof/tendon issues, what you should look for if lameness is present, how to care for tendons etc.)
Husbandry & Handling (how to fit all tack such as halter, bridle, saddle, cinch/girth, breast collar, back cinch, hoof boots, bell boots etc., landmarks of where the tack should fit on the body, how to identifying ill fitting tack and issues it can cause internally/externally to the horse, how to lunge, do groundwork and exercise)
Behaviour & Communication (how to identify issues in the herd, which horse is alpha within a herd, how herd dynamics and hierarchy works & why, signs of a stressed horse within the herds, signs of something being wrong or stress signals)
