Our district uses GSuite for Education. This is a powerful resource with a variety of elements that can be used for continuous learning during school closure. This listing is intended to review basics given to help convert to an online learning platform in the need of sudden school closure.

Google Classroom

Google Classroom is the method being used to interact with students, post instruction, and provide feedback to the students. Google Classroom features Originality Reports and Rubrics for monitoring student progress and providing feedback about knowledge gained.

Google Docs

Google Docs is an online word process for typing document-based files. This can be used to create a task for a template for students or students can use existing templates to create a variety of documents. Files can be shared with other users for collaborative tasks.

Google Slides

Google Slides is an interface for creating instructional displays in a manner similar to PowerPoint. Slide Decks can be created from a variety of templates or from scratch. If you have presentations in PowerPoint, those can easily be converted to Google Slides.

Google Forms

Google Forms can be used to create surveys, gather information, or assess skills. In classroom, Quizzes can be created using a "Locked" interface so students are not able to access other resources while working on the assigned form.

Google Sheets

Google Sheets can be used to gather information and sort with a variety of computerized functions. When you give something using Google Forms, a Google Sheet is created to easily view the input received.

Google Meet

This tool will allow for creating an online meeting space complete with direct links and calendar invitations. Teachers can use Google Meet for livestreaming instruction, and these meetings can be recorded an posted for other students to reach at a later time. During the meeting, students can use "chat" for interactions.

Google Sites

This tool will allow for creating websites. Many teachers use Google Sites for building digital portfolios.
