The I&RS Steps (See chart below as well)
The I&RS process includes the following steps:
Request for Assistance (teacher, counselor, administrator, parent, nurse, etc)
Data Collection and Survey Completion (part of a request for assistance)
Parent/Guardian Notification (parental survey sent out)
Collaborative meeting with all members and individuals making the request for assistance
Identification of difficulty focusing on the needs of the referred student and review of data collection
Brainstorm interventions to improve student’s identified difficulties
Develop I&RS Action Plan if needed
Implement, Support, and Monitor the Action Plan
Assess improvement of difficulties or continue to the next level of MTSS Tier
