Television Arts and Sciences encompasses many of the content areas offered at Bloomfield High School, primarily Language Arts, Performing Arts, and Career Education. The students will learn to create and adapt film as an artistic media, using technology.
Introduction To Television Arts And Sciences: (9-12) 5 CR. Prerequisite: None
Introduction To Television Arts And Sciences is the beginning of a sequence of classes to prepare students for broadcasting. Operation of television equipment, including camera, lighting, sounds, and wiring, is taught. Program development in the district's network is explored, with emphasis on teamwork among students.
Film Studies 1 . (9-12) 2.5 CR. Prerequisites: None
Film Studies 1 introduces students to the critical study of film. Students will be responsible for learning vocabulary, editing, cinematography, sound, special effects, and acting. The goal of the course is to introduce and develop an awareness of the construction of movies and the role cinema plays in relating individuals to the values and assumptions of their community and culture.

Television Arts And Sciences is the third level of a sequenced program designed to prepare students for broadcasting. Students continue to work on programming for the school district's YouTube channel. Advanced techniques and skills in editing and production are explored.
Television Arts And Sciences Lab: (10-12) 5 CR. Prerequisite: Introduction to Television Arts And Sciences
Television Arts And Sciences is offered to students enrolled in Television Arts And Science 2 or 3. The lab occurs in the television studio while other classes are being held and enable students to work independently or collaboratively with the class on advanced productions.
Television Arts And Sciences 3: (12) 5 CR. Prerequisite: Prerequisite: Television Arts And Sciences 2 with a "C"
Television Arts And Science 3 is a final level of the program that prepares students for broadcasting. Students work on the operation of television equipment, including cameras, lighting, sound, and wiring in conjunction with students in Television Arts And Sciences 2. In addition, programming for the district YouTube channel is prepared for broadcast.
