Teachers will make course recommendations prior to the course request period.
Students meet with their school counselor to discuss course selection. All students will select courses that were recommended by their teachers and select electives from the BHS Elective Guide 25-26. They will have the opportunity to discuss these selections during their scheduling conference with their school counselor.
Last day students may request a change is March 7, 2025 to their course selections until May 2025.
Preliminary schedules will be emailed via School Messenger on or about June 16th.
Students who would like to request a schedule change, for any reason, will need to email their school counselor by June 20th in order for the request to be reviewed before the end of the school year.
Counselors will be review change requests as they come in and will adjust schedules when possible.
In the event a request cannot be honored, the counselor will reach out to the student/parent/guardian. If a request is submitted with an invalid reason, the counselor will email the student/parent/guardian.
Course change requests made after June 20th may not be reviewed until school counselors are in their office during the month of August.
Students should check for their 2025-2026 schedule in PowerSchool on or about August 18th.
Counselors will make schedule changes on a first come, first serve basis during this week. They will email the student once a schedule change is made or if the requested change is not possible.
Level changes will be considered based on student circumstances.
Any level change after October 17, 2025 will result in grades transferring from the original course to the new course. Teachers will have discretion to incorporate previous grades when determining marking period averages.
Students will not be permitted to begin a new elective in order to accommodate the level change after October 1; only minimal impacts to the overall schedule are warranted.
Any requests for level changes made after November 12 must be approved by the subject supervisor and principal.
