After registering online courses, you are ready to get started. Bloomfield College uses a Web-based learning management system called Blackboard for our online courses delivery. Students new to Blackboard should review the tutorials on Blackboard support site beforehand. Your course(s) may not be available for access until the official start date, unless you have received instructions from your instructor.
1. Check Computer Hardware Configurations
In general, if you can use your computer to surf the Web and check email you should be able to use it to access Blackboard. More power your computer has, faster you can accomplish tasks in Blackboard. However your computer must have Blackboard supported browser and plug-ins installed to run Blackboard.

Java is required.
Monitor: A monitor capable of at least 1024 x 768 resolutions.
Suggested Software & Plug-ins:
Anti-virus software: Highly recommended for instructors and students.
2. Test Your Web Browser
If this is your first time taking online course(s), you should run a browser test to make sure it meets Blackboard's minimum requirements. This test will find out what version of browser on your computer, and if you have necessary plug-ins installed on your computer. Please pay attention to the test results and make sure your computer is configured properly. Your browser need to pass test for all items.
3. Student Email and Blackboard Accounts
All registered students will get an assigned account to access computers in the lab and classroom on campus, the same account is also used to access myBloomfield Portal, email and Blackboard. Bloomfield College email address is the only email used in Blackboard for to and from the online instructor.
4. Accessing Blackboard
To access your course(s) on Blackboard, please log into myBloomfield Portal, select My Blackboard Classes.
