Since the pandemic began three years ago, everyone has been confined to the safety of their own homes. Classes, programs, and events were held online via Zoom, Google Meet, and other online communication platforms while the students fondly reminisced about face-to-face classes. On November 10, 2022, Bloomfield Academy hosted an event, that was significant for senior high school students. Representatives of various colleges and universities in Manila attended the college fair to share what they have in store for the students, which lifted everyone's spirits as it was finally held face-to-face.
The program started around 1:00 p.m. with an opening prayer led by Antoinette Myrel B. Carballo, a HUMSS student from Grade 11, and it ended at around 5:00 p. m. with a closing prayer by Jessica Fernandez, and ABM student from Grade 12. This was held at Bloomfield's covered court. A College fair is an event wherein college representatives talk to students about what their institution has to offer. It tackles the courses or strands of programs that they offer, the location of the campus, the rules and regulations of the institution, and many more. Events like these help students who are struggling to find a perfect college or university that is on par with their expertise and expectations in creating a bright future for themselves. During this program, the students' minds were provoked by each institution's offers, which sparked their curiosity at first. As the program ended, they were filled with insight, enthusiasm, and hope as the majority had found the perfect college to build their future with.
This year, 15 colleges were able to participate in our college fair with the motive of persuading all graduating seniors about the different facilities and advantages each university offers. All 15 schools were able to present their facilities on a first-come, first-served basis. Consequentially, the first college to present was Asia Pacific College (APC) a college that is a branch out of the National University (NU). APC is then followed by Adamson University, St. Francis of Assisi College, De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences, University of Santo Thomas (UST), Southville International Schools and Colleges, Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU), Manila Tytana Colleges, St. Scholastica’s College, Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP), Colegio De San Juan de Letran, Far Eastern University (FEU), Mapua University, Asian Institute of Marine Studies (AIMS), and last but not least, the University of the East (UE). Most of the schools held raffles with different prizes, and others gave students small gifts when they roamed to explore the various booths. Flyers were also distributed within the program that contained a complete list of information about the school and the programs they offer. The program was hosted by Kristoffer Stanley A. Masangkay and Cayla Danielle F. Santa Cruz , Grade 12 students from HUMSS strand.
