A travel bug at heart, I took to drawing and painting as my travelling took a back seat during the pandemic. Little did I know I would discover an unexplored side of me through art.
When I started on this journey, I had my share of self doubts but the teaching process put me at ease and helped me overcome my inhibitions.
Art can be satisfying for the soul and therapeutic for the mind. I would say the only good thing that happened during the pandemic was getting to know the artist inside me.

I have discovered myself through paintings- my roots as well as my quirkiness. I am a person who is often too much bothered about symmetry, balance etc. But nature is not like that, beauty is in its imperfections. I have come to acknowledge and accept diversity and disparity.
At another level, through paintings, I have undertaken a journey from Kerala, where I have been living for more than three decades, to Bengal.
And this is my idea of India too.

Honestly speaking it was not me but my daughter who was Mridula's student. It was just a curiosity initially to see how drawing and painting works.
Having dealt with technology at work I wanted to explore something that is completely different. I had never explored art before I joined Mridula's classes. So yes she rightly put it, I didn't even know to draw a straight line. However she convinced me into believing that drawing and painting can be learned by anyone and at any age.
Today after having completed several projects I can say a finished artwork is far ore rewarding that anything else. So if you are looking at beginning this journey just go for it!
