Participants had three choices to attend U-Knight 305’s first community engagement session. The first opportunity, on December 1, was in-person at the Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School gym. The other two virtual sessions were scheduled for December 2nd, and 5th.
In total, 38 attended with work activity reports from 8 tables (all in person participation). What follows is an Executive Summary from the work activity responses from Community Engagement Session #2.
Activity #1 Identify Preferred Masterplan Scenario
The first activity was a group/table activity. Groups were asked to select their top overall (preferred) masterplan scenario. Presented below are the results of that activity.
Of the 8 tables, all 8 selected one of the 6-12 campus scenarios as their top solution. 6 of those groups selected scenario 5A (Middle School addition to ALAH HS) with the other two selecting 5B (New 6-12 campus).
While not required, six groups identified a second scenario. Five of those selected the alternative to their first choice (5A>5B / 5B>5A) with the sixth identifying 4A New Middle School. The focus of the selection of these secondary scenarios seemed to reflect the desire to ultimately end up with replacement of the High School facility at the existing site.
One last piece of feedback was the idea to build a HS addition at the existing ALAH HS, placing the 6-8 students in the existing high school.

Activity #2 Outline Phase 1 Implementation
For the second activity, participants were asked to outline what a phase 1 implementation might look like. To do this, the groups were asked how they would spend up to $30M to begin implementing their preferred masterplan scenario(s).
A wide range of options were suggested. Presented below are the more common themes. The full array of responses can be found in the verbatim document linked below.
4 Tables - Arthur Gym ($2.2M)
3 Tables - Total PNA ($19.67M)
3 Tables - HS STEM/IND Tech ($2.0M)
2 Tables - Secured Entries ($1M ea - $3M total)
2 Tables - New Middle School ($19M)
