About Caitlin

Caitlin is an award-winning educational technology coach, author, and consultant who implements innovative solutions to the challenges of teaching and learning in the digital age through transformative uses of educational technology. She is co-author of Stretch Yourself: A Personalized Journey to Deepen Your Teaching Practice.

Caitlin completed her Ed.D. in Technology Integration in K-16 Education through Johns Hopkins University School of Education in 2019. Her research focused on information and media literacy. Caitlin also has a M.Ed. in Elementary Education with a specialization in Educational Technology and a B.A. in Elementary Education, both from the University of Florida (Go Gators!).

In 2018, Caitlin won the Award for Outstanding Young Educator from the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and in 2017 was named an ISTE Emerging Leader. Caitlin is a Google Certified Innovator/Trainer and an ISTE Certified Educator. Caitlin also has a professional teaching license for Elementary Education (K-6).

At Shorecrest Preparatory School in St. Petersburg, FL, Caitlin was the Middle and Upper School Librarian and Technology Specialist. In this role, she provided formal and informal instruction in information, media, and technology skills; collaborated with students and teachers to support learning goals; supervised one of the school’s makerspaces; and updated the library collection.

Before Shorecrest, Caitlin was the Academic Technology Specialist at Harpeth Hall School in Nashville, TN. Caitlin worked with faculty and students to foster effective and meaningful technology integration. She collaborated with school librarians to develop and implement a digital and information literacy skills matrix. Caitlin was instrumental in launching the school’s makerspace, the Design Den, including executing design and innovation projects. In 2018, the Harpeth Hall middle school program was proud to be named a finalist for the Future of Education Technology Conference (FETC) STEM Excellence Award.

Caitlin was also the Technology Integration Specialist at Currey Ingram Academy, a PK-12 independent school for students with learning differences. Caitlin helped teachers integrate assistive technology to support learners. She also collaborated with school librarians to create and deliver a schoolwide digital citizenship curriculum and a gamified teacher professional development program. The Collaboration Challenge had 100% faculty participation in its first year and resulted in increased faculty collaboration and classroom technology use. In 2014, Caitlin, along with a school librarian, won the ISTE Librarians’ Network Award for Technology Innovation at the primary (K-4) level.

Caitlin lives with her husband and two sons in beautiful Tampa, Florida.
