These are my classroom expectations:
1. Be respectful...it is never okay to be hurtful
2. Be responsible
3. Follow directions
4. Talk at appropriate times...it is never okay to be disruptive
5. Come to class with a positive attitude
To maintain a positive learning environment, I plan to set clear expectations and make use of engaging instructional strategies. It is also important to reward positive behavior. However, there are times when a student or two may be having an off day. If a student is having an off day and after receiving redirection, if a disruptive or disrespectful behavior continues, the student will be assigned to walk laps at recess. However, if a behavior doesn’t improve, I will need to seek your help and possibly help from the school principal or counselor, and I may relocate the student to a more secluded section of the classroom. If this happens, the student will be conferneced with by myself and more than likely be assigned laps to walk at recess before returning to assigned seat. If behaviors are extreme, I will refer the student to the office. I thank you for your support in advance.
