Blackpool Talking Therapies Service provides a range of psychological therapies and treatments to residents of Blackpool and Cleveleys who are aged 16 and above, including:
Guided self-help
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Eye Movement Desensitisation Therapy (EMDR)
Counselling
Couples counselling
Long-term health condition integrated psychological treatment
A stress control course
Mindfulness classes
The therapies may be delivered online, over the telephone or face to face.
The stress control course that the service offers aims to enable individuals to face their fears, be more active and boost their wellbeing. The course provides coping mechanisms for anxiety, depression, panicky feelings, poor sleep and poor wellbeing over seven online sessions. The course involves the use of CBT, positive psychology and mindfulness in the delivery of its outcomes.
The mindfulness course that the service offers aligns to Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and is delivered over the course of 8 sessions either online or face to face. The course teaches individuals about remaining in the present as opposed to dwelling on the past or worrying about the future through being able to better understand and manage their emotions and body sensations, resulting in relief from feelings of distress.
The SilverCloud service offers techniques for overcoming low mood and anxiety. The provision of this service to an individual only ceases where it is deemed appropriate.

The Light Lounge service provides support for individuals who are struggling socially and emotionally with life challenges, as well as who are experiencing mental health crises. The service provides support in relation to anxiety management, stress management, safety and wellness recovery action planning, low mood/depression, suicidal ideation, emotional regulation, challenging negative thoughts and signposting. The support is delivered through pre booked appointments and drop in sessions.

Living With Loss supports individuals who are struggling with grief following bereavement, both online and through in-person events.

Volunteer Centre Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde
The Volunteer Centre Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde provides support to individuals in the light of the Cost of Living crisis. The centre is visited on a weekly basis by a food truck, allowing people to collect food parcels at a fraction of the retail price. The centre also has a scheme titled ‘Borrow It’, allowing people to hire items over set time periods for set fees, of which would usually be expensive to purchase.
