On-site, you will be based within our training team where you will undertake more formal in-house training for the duration with our Operations functions, with a manufacturing focussed programme. Upon completion you will join our team as a fully qualified Process Operator.
Operate the manufacturing process to the required quality and safety standards and relevant operating procedures.
Work closely with the process team and interact with other departments like laboratory, maintenance, engineering, supply chain, and warehouse. You may also engage with external contacts, including customers, service providers, and regulators.
Ensure products meet quality standards and production schedules while adhering to external manufacturing regulations for safety, sustainability, and compliance. You may need to wear specialist PPE, such as safety glasses, chemical-resistant gloves, suits, footwear, or breathing apparatus.
Working alone or in a team, you will be responsible for the quality and accuracy of your work with minimal supervision.

Leyland has sole responsibility for the engineering design and development of the DAF XB product within the PACCAR organisation. The Engineering Degree Apprenticeship Scheme (EDAS) in Aerospace, is a five year scheme. The EDAS Aerospace Degree Apprenticeship covers a wide range of engineering branches required to design, develop, build and maintain modern advanced aircraft.
An EDAS Aerospace apprentice develops the digital and practical skills need to complete 6 on the job placements spanning a wide cross-section of engineering branches over the first 3 years, coupled with other key development activities. Advance your career in nuclear engineering with the Nuclear Engineering Degree Apprenticeship with Westinghouse Springfields Fuels, this unique programme delivers the multi-disciplinary and technical skills needed to succeed as a nuclear engineer.

Leyland Trucks are ecruiting 28 apprentices this year across a range of business areas.
They will be offering 23 Level 3 and 4 apprenticeships which are applicable to those who have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above (A*-C) in Maths, English and Science. There are two Level 3 apprenticeships - Assembly Operative (12 posts) and Business Administration (1 post). The Level 4 Apprentices are Automotive Engineer (8 posts), Facilities & Maintenance (1 post) and Fabrication & Welding (1 post).
Applicants for the other 5 apprenticeship positions will need to have achieved a relevant Level 3 qualification (equivalent to 96 UCAS points) in addition to at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including Maths, English (and a Science for Design). Ameon has operated a degree apprenticeship programme for over 20 years with all graduates still currently employed within the business and at positions up to and including company Director. The company is committed to apprenticeships at all levels and its degree apprenticeship is a five-year programme run in conjunction with UCLAN leading to Incorporated Engineer (IENG) status which can be further supported to Chartered Engineer (CEng) as your Career develops.
Applicants are expected to have a passion for engineering and the desire to work collaboratively with colleagues and other design team members. A Level grades A* to B in Maths, Physics or Chemistry are preferred; however, alternative qualifications may be acceptable provided at least A level standard in Maths or a Science is demonstrated.
Graduates will obtain a BENG (Hons) degree in Building Services & Sustainable Engineering and would be registered as an Incorporated Engineer (IENG) with the Engineering Council whilst also receiving in house training in design calculation software, 3D modelling and Building Information Modelling (BIM) techniques, system design, quantity surveying, contract and project management and cost estimation.
Training and development does not stop on graduation. Graduate Engineers receive ongoing training and professional development through to Senior Engineer and beyond.
The starting salary is £12000.00 per annum, rising to approximately £30,000.00 on completion and continues to rise through the company pay scales for technicians and ultimately Senior Engineer pay scales.

What you will do in your working day
As a Packaging Research and Development Apprentice, you will be part of a team leading the way in developing new sustainable packaging (bottles, caps, jars, labels + many more formats) and products. You will have the opportunity to work in different packaging functions to develop your skills. This will include, working in hands on environments such as the Packaging Lab and the Advanced Manufacturing Centre. Here you will work with various pieces of equipment and refine your understanding of our different test methods and practises, ensuring our pack designs are suitable for our Supply Chain and provide our consumers with the in-use experience they expect.
You’ll also experience more management and development work as you rotate through our Packaging Excellence, Design, Sustainability and Brand Innovation teams. Here you will get to work on new packaging design/technology projects from concept to launch, collaborating with different teams within Unilever to deliver a high quality, sustainable, desirable pack to market.
You will do all this while getting a packaging BSc from Sheffield Hallam University.
