Across three days you will hear from industry insiders, giving you helpful tips on how to break into the industry, sharing their insights, and discussing career journeys and entry routes into their specialisms. Freelancing and self-employment are extremely common in the sector, so not only will you hear from industry experts, but this experience will also include finance and self-employment sessions. Equipping you with information to confidentially take your best next step into a career within the Hair and Beauty sector.

We are pleased to announce that for the fourth year running, Built Environment Work Experience Week will be going ahead. This event has had huge success in the past and we are

delighted to invite you to take part. The week will be on Monday 1st July until Friday 5th July.


This week’s placement is to plan, cost, and design part of a new road in England.


Over the week you will meet a variety of people who work in construction and engineering,

learning about their jobs and their route into construction. They come from a wide variety of

backgrounds and their paths into their current job have not always been what you might expect.


You will also meet recruitment experts to give you hints and tips on CVs and interviews.

With the help from their presentations, using your own skills and those of your team members,

you will work to create a presentation which shows why our judges should pick your company

and its designs to build part of the new road.


There are two options for you to be involved in this week and below will detail more information:


● Virtual Delivery: Here you will take part in Built Environment Work Experience Week via an online platform

● In person Delivery: In the event that there is a site near to you that has availability you

will be able to visit a site for the week

The VWEX opportunity will include:

The Ameon Degree Apprenticeship in Building Services & Sustainable Engineering Work Placement

Ameon is a prestigious engineering brand in its field specialising in the design and construction of Mechanical, Electrical, Utility and Renewable Engineering services within all types of commercial developments including Hotels, High Rise residential buildings, Sports Stadiums, Hospitals, Health Centres, Schools, Further Education Blocks, Higher Education Facilities, Offices, Factories, law Courts, Specialist Manufacturing Facilities and just about everything else in between.

Ameon has operated a degree apprenticeship programme for over 20 years with all graduates still currently employed within the business and at positions up to and including company Director. The company is committed to apprenticeships at all levels and its degree apprenticeship is a five-year programme run in conjunction with UCLAN leading to Incorporated Engineer (IENG) status which can be further supported to Chartered Engineer (CEng) as your Career develops.

There is an opportunity to meet the employer and gain valuable insight into the building services and sustainability engineering degree apprenticeship and role, application process, networking with the employer & opportunity to ask questions. Building Your Future with JLL & Meta

You’ve probably heard of ‘real estate’, but do you know what it means? In this virtual work experience programme, JLL and Meta will introduce you to the world of real estate and the exciting opportunities within it. Through the lens of written, interactive and video content, you’ll work through a series of online modules to build your understanding of this industry...

From sustainability and running real estate learn how you could use the Metaverse in the sector, this programme will introduce you to the world of real estate - an industry that is all about creating innovative spaces for people to thrive in. You’ll have the chance to take part in quizzes and activities (including one that uses Minecraft!) to put your skills and knowledge to the test. What’s more, you’ll even have the chance to hear from leading industry experts along the way, and reflect on everything you learn. You’ll also get the chance to take home some Meta swag for completing this programme!
