Social Sciences Summer School 2024
Our three-day, two-night Social Sciences Summer School, running from Tuesday 24 June – Thursday 26 June 2025, is the perfect opportunity for Year 12 students to explore a variety of social sciences subjects (including Environment, Geography, Sociology, Education, Politics and International Studies and Business) and live life as a university student.
Through a series of academic workshops relating to a chosen theme, students will experience university-level teaching including lectures, seminars, and workshops; supporting them to make informed higher education course choices. Participants will stay overnight in university accommodation and take part in social activities supported by our Student Ambassadors, gaining valuable insight into the extracurricular opportunities available to them as an undergraduate student. Following the event, participants will also be invited to take part in a series of online sessions supporting their UCAS application and transition to university. We invite applications from all Year 12 students, but priority will be given to those who live in an area of low progression to higher education and/or who meet two of these criteria found on our Access to Leeds contextual admissions programme.
Please share with your students and encourage them to apply via our Social Sciences Summer School webpage.
Our UK Summer Schools 2024 programmes have now officially opened for applications.
We have teamed up with 13 excellent universities to host our annual summer schools programmes this year, offering young people from across the country the opportunity to experience life at university before they decide on their next steps.
Lancaster University will be in the foyer on Friday13th October 2023 between 11:30am and 1:30pm answering any questions you may have about university.
